徐匡迪，男，漢族，1937年12月生，浙江桐鄉人，1983年6月加入中國共產黨，1959年9月參加工作，北京鋼鐵工業學院冶金系鋼鐵冶金專業畢業，大學學歷，教授，中國工程院院士。

　　1954年至1959年北京鋼鐵工業學院冶金系鋼鐵冶金專業學習。1959年至1963年北京鋼鐵工業學院、北京鋼鐵學院冶金系助教。1963年至1971年上海工學院冶金工程系助教、煉鋼教研室副主任。1971年至1972年下放安徽省鳳陽“五七”干校勞動。1972年至1980年上海機械學院、上海工業大學冶金工程系助教、講師、煉鋼教研室主任。1980年至1986年上海工業大學冶金工程系副主任、主任、副教授、教授（其間：1982年3月至1983年2月英國帝國理工學院做合作研究、訪問學者；1084年3月至1985年6月赴瑞典斯堪的那維亞•蘭塞爾公司任副總工程師、技術經理）。1986年至1989年上海工業大學常務副校長。1989年至1991年上海市教衛辦公室副主任兼市高教局局長、黨組書記。1991年至1992年上海市計委主任、黨組書記。1992年8月至12月上海市副市長兼市計委主任、黨組書記。1992年12月至1994年上海市委常委、副市長。1994年至1995年上海市委副書記、副市長。1995年至2001年上海市委副書記、市長（1995年當選為中國工程院院士）。2001年至2002年中國工程院黨組書記。2002年任在中國工程院院長、黨組書記。2003年3月在全國政協十屆一次會議上當選為第十屆全國政協副主席。

　　中共第十四屆中央候補委員，十五屆、十六屆中央委員。中國世界貿易組織研究會名譽會長。
